MISTER WHATEVER initially made its debut on the road in 2025, and demand for JOHN MULANEY’s huge tour has been through the roof. Every single city, fans keep begging for more. With a slew of new dates announced, the funny man is crossing over to summer 2026, hosting endless nights of his gentleman-style of comedy with a chaotic charm. Following his jam-packed “From Scratch tour” and his recent Netflix special “Baby J,” the comic has been strengthening his reputation for his hard-hitting humor, honest takes, and razor-sharp wit.

A POWERHOUSE “BABY J” COMIC

Mulaney rose to the scene for his work on Saturday Night Live, becoming a prominent figure from 2008 to 2013. Contributing plenty of iconic sketches, characters, and stories, he soon became a comedy & entertainment industry powerhouse. In 2022, he became a member of the SNL Five Timers Club — hosting the show for six times since he first left. To his name, he’s got several crowd-favorite stand-up specials, including “Baby J,” “Oh, Hello on Broadway,” “The Top Part,” “The Comeback Kid,” “Kid Gorgeous at Radio City,” and “John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch.”

He sure is the ‘comeback kid’ because every single performance, show episode, or films that he’s featured in, the man never fails to impress. His most recent release, “Baby J,” came out on Netflix in 2023 — five years after “Kid Gorgeous at Radio City” (2018) dominated the funny business. 

“Baby J” saw Mulaney looking back at his experience and lessons learned from drug addiction and rehabilitation. The special saw critical acclaim from publications and audiences, praising the man for his honesty, vulnerability, and his clever wit. 

“There’s undoubtedly a lot more weight on Mulaney’s shoulders, and more retrospection in his storytelling. But few comedians are currently working with his kind of natural talent,” The Atlantic’s David Sims commented about Baby J. 

While he tackled something pretty heavy, “my goal was to present this as funny as possible with no dramatic pauses,” Mulaney shared with DEADLINE. “I wanted it to be a joke-driven special about something that is complex and sad and a little scary, but has a ton of very specific details. It was an action-packed time.”

Nonetheless, his message was delivered in the best way possible. As always, he’s able to flawlessly serve the best comedy nights on stage. In 2025, his live variety talk show, “Everybody's Live with John Mulaney,” premiered on Netflix, keeping fans entertained with running gags, bizarre chaos.
