Released in 1995, the album was a stark crossover effort that popularized blues rock in the mainstream circuit! Ledbetter Heights, which topped the Billboard’s Top Blues chart also entered the Billboard 200. The album, which sold over a million copies and earned platinum, also spawned several Billboard Mainstream Rock hits like “Deja Voodoo,” “Born With A Broken Heart,” and “Aberdeen.” These hits will later pave the way for Shepherd’s follow up effort, Trouble Is…, which spawned the Mainstream chart topping single, “Blue On Black,” which also went into the Billboard Hot 100. ABOUT KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD

Commercially successful blues rock purveyor Kenny Wayne Shepherd has been performing on stage since his teens. The guitar prodigy’s footage from his festival performance impressed music execs so much so that he was later signed to Giant Records for multiple album deals. In 1995, Kenny Wayne Sheperd at 18 years old, released Ledbetter Heights. The album became a phenomenal hit and topped the blues charts while its singles made waves on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. The successful debut effort was followed by a string of equally successful albums. Shepherd released a total of 12 studio efforts, eight of which went to number 1 on the Blues chart. Three albums went platinum in the US, while his 1999 effort Live On earned gold.
